Spears śpiewając „Oops I did it again”.
Pozwólcie mi to wypunktować:
Zastosowanie:
- jednorazowa czynność w
przeszłości (wiadomo z kontekstu lub mamy bezpośrednie określenie czasu)
- krótkie czynności, które miały miejsce jedna po
drugiej
- przeszłe zwyczaje, nawyki (analogicznie jak w
Present Simple, tylko zazwyczaj już
nieaktualne)

Horrible! In the name of knowledge... Where are the borders of humanity?...
The thing is... I returned home from the swimming pool - relaxed, happy with my life and what I heard? "Have you heard about Project Nim?" - my friend asked... And I listened with attention, being curious, interested and more and more suspicious with each word I heard... And I read about it... I disagree with that - totally... The only thing the experiment showed is something what we have known for a long time:
ANIMALS ALSO HAVE FEELINGS!!!
Read and watch the trailer of the film... And let me know if it is only me who thinks it was cruel...

This is the star... She should be the role model for all stars...
Unfortunately, the husband of Celine Dion died... I am very sorry for her as this was the pair that had really loved each other... Not like today's stars, getting married for fun... Celine, we are with you... Let's listen to her greatest hit...
And now look at Her class... I've loved her since I was 10... And yes, she's better than Britney...

Past Simple - construction - statements (twierdzenia), questions (pytania) and negations (przeczenia) - presentation
How to build correct sentences using Past Simple?
Here's the answer.
Now, my advice: write at least five statements, questions and negations to get used to the form.
BUT think!
If you think and use your consciousness you will later do it like a robot - without thinking about each word...

HOW TO LEARN...
How to learn new vocabulary?
Talking about learning,
I don’t mean sitting in front of the book reading, revising, repeating and
rewriting. What I mean in acquisition, being curious, searching. This is the
key to great knowledge. So these are my tips:
#1 – while watching films, serials or listening to the music try to
catch nice words or phrases. This is how I started learning English seriously – I fell over hills
with Celine Dion – my first words were: heart, near, far (who knows the song?)
#2 – spot English vocabulary on products from your country – there are a
lot of English phrases on the boxes
#3 - write diaries in English – I have already written about it check it
out!
#4 - hang the list of new vocab in the toilet – especially while no 2
you need to read something. It is hard to find more relaxing and calm
circumstances J
#5 – cut down little cards and prepare 3 envelops; name envelops: I know, I don’t know yet and I know a little. On each card write the English word and on the other – meaning. Put
all the words to I don’t know yet envelope and
revise it 2 or 3 times a day – but do not try to stress – just look at the
world and admit: I know, I don’t know (yet) or I know a little. After some time
you will know it perfectlyJ
winter sports:)
SLEDNIG
Kids went sledging.
SKIING
I ski every year in the mountains.
ICE SKATING
I skate in the ice rink every Sunday in winter.
SNOWMAN BUILDING
I love building snowman with my dad!
SNOWBOARDING
Snowboarding is more difficult than skiing.
ICE HOCKEY
Playing hockey on ice is not easy thingL

- How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
- She sells sea shells by the sea shore. The shells she sells are surely seashells. So if she sells shells on the seashore, I'm sure she sells seashore shells.
- I wonder whether the wether will weather the weather or whether the weather the wether will kill.

- will Polish edition be as good as English one?
Ladettes to lady is a programme which I often watch with my students since it showes three types of language used by British (Queen English, semi formal ald inforlmal). Besiades, it shows that you can do anything you want and that you don't need to adjust to all.
Zbliża się pierwsza edycja polskiej edycji programy Ladette to lady ("od imprezowiczki do damy"). Poniżej pierwszy odcinek pierwszej serii oryginalnej wersji... Czy polska przeróbka także okażę się sukcesem? Liczę na to, bo program jest super.
First edition of Polish Ladette to lady is coming. Below, there's a link to the first episode of original version... Will the Polish version a success? I hope so as the programme is really cool.
O co chodzi? Dwanaście dziewczyn (imprezowiczek, raczej kiepski materiał ma żonę lorda:( ) przenosi się na kilka tygodni do świata higher fucker (własne tłumaczenie polskiego zwrotu, generalnie chodzi o wyższą sferę)... Czy zdołają stać się prawdziwymi damami? Zobaczymy...
What is it all about? Twelve girls (ladettes, no kind of lord's wife type) gets into the world of higher fucker (my own translation :) I meant upper class)... Will they be able to survive and become real ladies? We will see...

Diaries...
Real life
English? Figuring out how to use foreign language? Thinking in second tongue?
Sounds odd for a lot of teenagers, who MUST learn foreign language at school. Does
it also sound odd, after you try writing DIARY? I don’t think so…
First of all, you must know, that writing diaries is
not only for girls! This is used ad therapeutic method – but not only for
mentally sick peopleJ The psychological advantage of keeping record of what happened during
the day allows us to look back at our life. It enables to notice some patterns
of our behavior and enhances us to change. Besides, daybook may be our best
friend – it doesn’t appraise us, it can’t just huff, what gives the real
opportunity to learn about ourselves. Especially, when we write in foreign
language – we feel safer, as we are not afraid, that someone can read our confession.
Moreover, writing in, let’s say,
English, we find ourselves from some perspective, we are more likely to open
and understand…
These were the psychological effects of keeping
diaries… Now, how can we get any foreign language knowledge from it? Let me
employ English, since I have learnt it for my whole life and I’ve taught it for
almost ten years. Well, first asset is – grammar. But not learning – acquisition
is better word here. Once I came up with
the idea of giving homework of keeping a diary for holiday. After the break of
two months, students gave me their works and it appeared that with each day
they had used better grammar, syntax and vocab. What’s more – they remembered
second and third forms of verbs. And, the most important, they found that
school English is not enough – they hadn’t known useful, everyday words, so they
had to find them. Now they know that it’s
not only school, where they can (and must) learn… what, to my amazement, they took
it up with happiness…
Then, when it worked with older students, I tried it
with younger ones, learning Pas Simple Tense. It was a little more difficult
for them, but I promised good marks for thatJ And they did it. After coming back, this time from
Christmas holiday, they asked a lot of questions, about grammar, vocab and so
on.
But most of all, what surprised me as hell, was the
fact, that they all started THINKING IN ENGLISH! They started using Past
Continuous Tense (although they hadn’t learnt it by then). When I asked them
why, they answered: Because it worked for
me or It sounded ok. They found
the clue of learning!
Will you try it? Let me know how it workedJ
