Christmas - time to start
I do not like starting Christmas Time too early... This year I saw first Christmas commercial in October! I guess that it is totally not right.

Greg's Horror Story part 1.
She was scared, excited and somehow calm at the same time. She knew exactly what to do, how to dress, how to change her new look to adjust to society. The society which had been around her for last 18 years and which now seemed to be (how to call it?...) not the only one? not the
proper one? - just different.
When prepared, she went out her room and took stairs downstairs. She was walking slowly, being astonished of everything around. Nothing was the same...
- Hello sweetheart - she heard - hope you slept well. - She looked at people in the kitchen. They were supposedly her parents but they looked different. Something changed. She couldn't spot the difference but she felt like it was the first time she had this special bond with them. Amelia felt inside that it is the way it should have always been like.
- Not much - she replied - I am hungry.
- Any questions? - asked her dad
- Quite a lot - the girl looked at the man - But does it really matter?
- Not much - he said.

A Sample of Greg's Horror Story
"(...)The funeral went smooth. There were quite a
lot of teachers and friends (what was worrying a bit for Elza) but nothing
unexpected happened. It was raining a bit and the sky was grey ("It is heaven that is crying over the death of such a young child" - Elza heard those words just before the priest articulated them). Just Tim... she and Rick really liked Amelia's boyfriend. They were looking at him, being tired themselves - tired of the whole pretending and lies. He was wet all over. Wearing black suit, he looked like fainting in a moment. He was crying like crazy. "He must have been virgin before Amelia" - Richard thought. His parents, holding their despairing son, now seemed to understand how frogile life can be. For them. Their families - uncles, aunts, children. Not for the Emersons. They had their rules. And the rules
were the rules - Amelia had to die.
After the ceremony in church and the whole role play on cementary they had only funeral reception to go through. As a matter of fact it was just a
party for the closest family. Old grandma who had come back about ten years
before, some couples preparing kids for leave. "They will surely want
to know what about us now" - Elza was wandering looking at the workers of funeral home, putting grave of
Amelia Emerson up. "I wanna only say I am really sorry, Mrs. Emerson" -
cried Tim behind her - "I know that my pain in nothing with your sorrow. You are... were her mother. I mean you will... Sorry, I just wanted to say that I want you to know that I will never forget Amelia" - The woman rolled her eyes, turned around and hold his
shoulder. She said nothing - what was she supposed to say? He was crying and
she didn't care. She only smiled (as sadly as she only was able to) and thanked
him. Tim wanted to hug her but as he only put his arms up she was gone. He just
saw a black van heading for the reception... "

Kochani,
tak to już jest w języku angielskim, że, gdy chcemy powiedzieć, że coś lubimy, kochamy, czegoś nie lubimy czy więcej, czegoś nienawidzimy, to do czasownika musimy dodać ING. Matematycznie rzecz ujmując, rzecz ma się tak:

Hard(core) cases - Dicky life - last episode...
„Hello, my name
is Richard, I am 16. My hobby is going to the gym and doing sports. I have the
best sister ever – Emily help me anytime I need it. I have a girlfriend – her
name is Ania. We met in Middle High School. I like meeting new people and I
hope that being in that high school will help me to make my dream come true – I
want to be a dietitian and personal trainer” – oto jak Dick przedstawił się na
pierwszej lekcji w liceum. Wysoki, dobrze zbudowany chłopak z modnymi
okularami na nosie nie był już tak naprawdę Dickiem – Dick to zdrobnienie,
którego już dziś nikt nie używa – teraz znajomi nazywają go Rick. I tak już
zostanie. Rick wie, czego chce, przestał przejmować się swoim wyglądem (bo już
nie ma czym) – od pierwszej klasy gimnazjum chodził na siłownię, biegał i
odżywiał się odpowiednio. Kiedy efekty diety zaczęły być widoczne Emilka
zabrała go na zakupy. Zmienił wygląd, a co za tym idzie, i nastawienie do
ludzi.
Co do tych dwóch wandali – jeden z nich kumpluje się teraz z Rickiem,
chodzą do tej samej klasy. Drugi, no cóż… Jest teraz w juvie za włamania i rozboje…
Za miesiąc Emilka wychodzi za mąż za jednego z „dresów”.
Richard jest świadkiem i właśnie biega, aby nie narobić wstydu siostrze…
Mafia cards - help for teachers
Dear teachers.
I know, that teaching speaking is not the easiest in our job. There are some obstacles, which just don't let students talk. But if they weren't themselves for a second? That's it. That is why Mafia game appeared:) It always works during my classes.
Zasady:
Każdy uczeń losuje kartkę
z danymi personalnymi, nikomu jej nie pokazując. Dodatkowo losuje kartę z osobowością, wśród których są dwie z napisem MAFIA. Teraz czas wprowadzić specjalną atmosferę... Ja robię to, czując co lubią moi uczniowie, albo po prostu wymyślam najbardziej kreatywne okoliczności. Na przykład:
We are the citizens of Gregtown. This is a little city in USA, just next to New York. It was very nice city until yesterday evening, when our dear friend was killed [tu wymyślamy kim była ofiara i ją opisujemy, wspólnie z grupą]. We do not have many visitors here - we had none yesterday, so the murderer was among us... We need to find him or her...
Teraz prosimy uczniów o to, aby się przedstawili i zadawali sobie nawzajem pytania w stylu:
Where were you yesterday? Was is about 7 or 9 pm? Did you know the victim? Did you like him/her? etc.
Kiedy cała grupa się już przedstawi i odpowie na pytania całe miasto głosuje na tego, kogo uważają za zabójcę (czyli MAFIĘ). Osoba z największą ilością głosów zostaje zastrzelona... (efekty strzału w linku - strzały z filmów), i przyznaje, czy wybór był OK, czy nie... Potem następuje noc i CITY GOES TO SLEEP - oczy zamykają wszyscy a po chwili MAFIA WAKES UP - budzą się osoby, które wylosowały karteczkę MAFIA i eliminują tego, który wydaje im się najbardziej zagrażać, wskazując na niego palcami. Następnie prowadzący mówi MAFIA GOES TO SLEEP, chwilę odczekuje i dopowiada CITY WAKES UP Gra toczy się, dopóki mieszkańcy nie wyeliminują z miasta MAFII lub MAFIA nie wykończy mieszkańców.
Poniżej karty osób (wraz z zawodami (o które moi
uczniowie pytali oraz te, które są najbardziej niezwykłe)
wraz z danymi
personalnymi oraz kart osobowości i funkcji w grze. Gra fajnie uczy Past Simple i zawodów a dzięki "niebyciu sobą" niweluje dystans do gadania. Nic tylko wycinać, drodzy pedagodzy...:)
